Sky Bet Championship side Bristol City have confirmed on their official website the signing of winger Jamie Paterson from second tier rivals Nottingham Forest.
The Robins have held off competition from a host of other clubs interested in Paterson’s services, as the 24-year-old has signed a three-year deal at Ashton Gate.
Paterson did not start a game under Phillipe Montanier at Forest this season, and has moved to Lee Johnson’s side in order to play regular football in the Championship.
Unsurprisingly, Robins boss Johnson is delighted to get the deal done before Wednesday’s transfer deadline.
He told the official website: ‘He’s a talented player that I’ve always admired.
‘I tracked him since his Walsall days and that’s come up trumps by bringing him here today. ‘
The winger had spent last season on loan with Huddersfield Town, making 36 appearances and netting eight goals for the Terriers.
The move for Paterson puts doubt on a deal for Kieran Richardson to make his move to Ashton Gate.
The permanent signing of the Forest winger clearly signals the intentions of the club, who will be looking to push for a play-off spot this season.
