Bristol City are interested in signing Manchester United keeper Dean Henderson who has enjoyed a fine season on loan at League One high-flyers Shrewsbury Town.

The 21-year old has been a key man for Paul Hurst and is set to play in the play-off final at Wembley next week.

As well as that, he was named in the PFA League One Team of the Year and was also called up to the England U21 side.

And, that form at the New Meadow has not gone unnoticed with The Sun reporting that Bristol City are preparing a £1m bid for Henderson.

Whilst he is highly regarded at Old Trafford given how far away Henderson is from the first-team it's highly likely they would be prepared to let him go.

Lee Johnson is expected to have a busy summer as he looks to build a squad that is capable of challenging for promotion after the side failed to keep up pace with the play-off pack this season, ultimately finishing 11th.

The Verdict

Henderson is sure to be a wanted man from Championship clubs in the summer after a superb season for Shrewsbury.

He will be desperate to finish the season in style by helping his side win promotion but either way Henderson is ready to play in the second tier.

If Bristol City can manage to do a deal for £1m it would represent very good business for a player who is only going to improve.
