Stuart Dallas could be in for a busy afternoon on Sunday at Elland Road, with Bristol City hinting they could be targeting the Northern Irish international when they face Leeds United.

A report in the Yorkshire Evening Post has referenced to Jamie McAllister’s pre-match comments, with the Bristol City assistant pinpointing Dallas as a potential weak-link in Paul Heckingbottom’s side.

With Luke Ayling injured and Gaetano Berardi serving a suspension, Heckingbottom opted to play Dallas, a recognised winger, at right-back last week, as Leeds suffered a 2-1 defeat to Sheffield United at Bramall Lane.

McAllister has been discussing Sunday’s clash at Elland Road, hinting that Bristol City should look to target Dallas, he said: “The boy Dallas has come in at right-back for them, who's not a natural right-back, he's more of a midfielder, so there's a little change there.”

Leeds welcome Bristol City to Elland Road on a miserable run of form, having failed to pick up a victory across all competitions since Boxing Day – a run that has left Heckingbottom’s side 11th in the Sky Bet Championship table and eight points adrift of the Robins, who occupy the final place in the top-six.

Whilst Leeds’ form has been indifferent, Lee Johnson’s Bristol City have also struggled, having picked up just one victory since Boxing Day.

The Verdict

Dallas isn’t a recognised right-back, but last weekend against Sheffield United, didn’t look out of place in the defence.

Of course, Bristol will look to catch Dallas out, but if the Northern Irishman can find the same level he showed last weekend, he should have enough to cope with what Johnson’s side throw at him.

Who Leeds play ahead of Dallas will have a big role on Sunday.
