Bristol City have bid accepted for skillful Premier League striker

It has emerged from a Sky Sports report late last night that Bournemouth have accepted a bid from Bristol City for striker Lee Tomlin.

Lee Johnson has openly stated how significant Tomlin is to Bristol City and how capturing his signature was his top priority this summer.

Tomlin impressed heavily in his loan spell at Ashton Gate during the second half of last season where he shone and proved himself to be not only a fan favourite but one of the most effective creative players in the entirety of the Championship.

The move was potentially put in jeopardy when Newcastle United began to also show a keen interest in the play-maker but Bristol City has staved off the interest and reports suggest that an undisclosed bid has been accepted.

The potential signing of Tomlin – if the personal terms can be agreed – would be a real coup for Bristol City and a statement of intent for next season.

Bristol City fans, how do you feel about the news? Are you pleased you beat Newcastle to Tomlin? Will he have a bigger impact at Bristol City than he would have had at Newcastle United?
