Tomorrow evening, Bristol City host Millwall at Ashton Gate as both sides look to improve their standings in the league and get more points on the board.

Robins assistant manager Dean Holden and experienced centre-back Ashley Williams have been speaking about Millwall at their pre-match press conference ahead of the crucial tie, as City could rise to third if Fulham fail to beat Preston North End.

Holden said: "Lee went to see Forest with a couple of the analysts.

"They’ve had a decent run since Gary went in there. They’ve got some real strengths and we need to make sure we’re ready for it."

Williams said: "It’s a different challenge and test. We’ll have our game plan which we’ll stick to. He’s a manager that I know well and respect.

"As I’ve said before we’ve set standards in the past two weeks."

35-year-old Williams would have come up against sides that have been managed by Rowett in the past, and he will know exactly what to expect whereas Holden will have seen what Millwall are capable of with the Robins having done their homework on the Lions.

Millwall have had a bit of a resurgence after Gary Rowett was appointed as manager back in October, having lost two Championship games out of nine under his stewardship so far.

The Lions will be hoping to progress further up the table having gone unbeaten in their last five league games, currently sat 15th in the table and on course for a mid-table finish, despite being just five points outside the play-offs in one of the tightest Championship tables for years.

The Verdict

Millwall have become more of a dangerous, attacking threat since Rowett was appointed a couple of months ago, and the Robins will be fearing the Lions despite their lowly position in the table.

If Bristol City have done their homework correctly, then they will be prepared for the physical test that Millwall are likely to bring to Ashton Gate tomorrow.
