Bristol City take on West Bromwich Albion at the Hawthorns this evening, hoping to inflict defeat on the Baggies for what would be just the second time this season.

The Robins come off the back of a 0-0 draw against Nottingham Forest on Saturday, which leaves Lee Johnson's side sitting in 7th place, shy of the play-off places because of goal difference.

Although it is an important game for The Robins and the supporters, there will be another key thing on their minds, as a key transfer target may be available in January.

It was reported by Football Insider that Arsenal are seriously considering recalling their 20-year-old striker and current England under-21 international Eddie Nketiah in the January transfer window. The youngster is currently on loan at Leeds United.

It has been stated that he can be recalled if a certain quota of minutes played has not been met.

However, his stay at Elland Road has not been as fruitful as those at the Emirates Stadium would've expected, as Nketiah has yet to start a game for the Yorkshire side.

He has made ten appearances off the bench, scoring three goals for the side, with a total of just 265 minutes of football played so far.

That in part has been down to the faith that Marcelo Bielsa has shown in Patrick Bamford, who has been the main No.9 used by Leeds this season.

The news that Arsenal are considering a recall will be a positive for Bristol City fans, as Nketiah turned down a move on loan to Ashton Gate in the summer.

With Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Alexandre Lacazette and Gabriel Martinelli the three main strikers for the Gunners this season, it is likely that Nketiah will be loaned out again, with Ashton Gate a possible destination.

Arsenal legend Ian Wright paid a visit to BS3 last month to meet Lee Johnson, in what Robins fans thought was a visit to gather potential information to feed back to the club, and the player himself.

With Benik Afobe out until the rest of the season, one of Bristol City's first points of call in the January transfer window will be to sign a striker, especially as Rodri is currently on a short-term deal.

Robins fans will view this news about Nketiah in a positive light, and will hope that if he does get recalled and loaned out again, he chooses Bristol City.
