Aden Flint must have thought he'd rescued a draw for Bristol City when he netted a stoppage-time equaliser to make it 2-2 in the second leg of the Robins' EFL Cup semi-final clash with Pep Guardiola's Manchester City.

It wasn't to be as Kevin de Bruyne bagged the winner with the last kick of the game but Flint was soon face to face with former Barcelona manager Guardiola on the pitch, exchanging platitudes.

It would appear that wasn't the only thing that Flint was willing to exchange. Much of the talk surrounding these glamour ties centres around who will be able to swap shirts with who, to pick up a momento that they will cherish for life.

Flint wanted to go on better with Guardiola, as his latest tweet reveals.

Just another example of the sense of humour that has made Flint a cult figure at the club...

The Verdict

Flint would no doubt have preferred a place in the final but even his request for an alternative prize was turned down.

The defender actually caused more of a threat up front in the last five minute than Famara Diedhiou did in the rest of the half and maybe if he'd gone up sooner, the impossible comeback might have been on.
