Bristol City manager Lee Johnson is considering making a move for Hearts youngster Callum Paterson, reports the Daily Record.
Having scouted him a number of times over the entirety of the campaign, Bristol City’s interest in Paterson is intensifying as the summer transfer window edges closer to opening.
With Paterson entering the final year of his contract, the pressure on Hearts to cash in on him is increasing ten-fold, with Bristol City the prime candidate at this moment in time.
However, more interest will likely follow for the highly-rated youngster, who has appeared 35 times for Hearts this season, netting seven goals.
The 21-year-old full back has the athleticism and enthusiasm to provide both an additional dimension for launching attacks as well as clearly enjoying defending.
As Bristol City have cemented themselves in the Championship after a strong second half to the season, manager Johnson will be hoping his recruitment, potentially with the arrival of Patterson, will allow the team to build on the success they have had this season, and set the aims and ambitions higher than just survival.
Bristol City fans… what do you make of the news? Is he the kind of calibre player you’d like being brought to the club? Do you think he’ll fit into Bristol City’s system? Or are there other areas that need to be addressed first? Let us know your thoughts and opinions in the comment section below!
