Bristol City are considering a swoop for Motherwell winger Adam Livingstone, according to reports in The Motherwell Times.

The 19-year-old winger currently plies his trade in the U-20 side at the Scottish club, but three goals in eight appearances has been enough to alert Robins’ scouts to his potential.

Livingstone, who has been at the club since the age of nine and is an avid Motherwell fan, will see his contract with the club expire next summer, meaning that he will be available to sign a pre-contract with another club in January.

The opportunity to move to the English second tier could be an offer the teenager cannot refuse, and manager Lee Johnson will be confident that he can secure his man in the new year.

Livingstone was part of the Motherwell side that won the Scottish Youth Cup for the first time in their history last year, and those associated with the club realise the player’s potential.

However with the big-boys calling, Motherwell seem powerless to stop the youngster heading south of the border.

The Verdict

Livingstone appears to be an impressive young winger with electric pace and an eye for goal, and scouts from Bristol City have been extremely impressed with what they have seen from the player.

The Motherwell Times reports that three further English clubs are weighing up a deal for the teenager, so Johnson will have to move quickly in January to ensure that he is at the front of the queue for the player’s signature.

The potential is there, and if Livingstone can live up to his hype, a deal for the player could prove to be excellent business.
