Bristol City have been given a substantial boost in their pursuit of Rangers goalkeeper, Cammy Bell, The Bristol Post is reporting.

Lee Johnson admitted that he has identified the goalkeeper spot as one that needs strengthening leading to him compiling a shortlist of potential goalkeepers to look to sign.

One potential choice is Cammy Bell of Rangers, the 29-year-old goalkeeper has revealed that he is pushing for a move away from the Ibrox for a pursuit of first team football.

Following the arrival of Wes Foderingham, Cammy Bell has dropped down in the pecking order to third choice and has been explicitly told that he is surplus to requirements.

Coupled with Cammy Bell’s current situation at Rangers and that Bristol City have confirmed their interest, Mark Warburton has revealed that he would not stand in the way of Bell leaving to join the Robins if they were to make a suitable bid.

Despite Bristol City’s interest, there is also interest north of the border with Aberdeen, Kilmarnock, and Hibernian all showing an interest.

Bristol City fans, how do you feel about the news? Would you like to see a goalkeeper come in as cover for Frank Fielding? If so, would Cammy Bell be an appropriate choice or is there someone else you have in mind? Let us know your thoughts and opinions in the comment section below!
