According to American news outlet, Metro, Bristol City are interested in signing New York Red Bulls’ Kemar Lawrence this summer, after an impressive start to the MLS season.

Lawrence has made 13 appearances in the MLS this season, scoring one goal for the Red Bulls and helping the club to sixth in the Eastern Conference after 15 fixtures of the campaign.

The 24-year old’s impressive performances have alerted Bristol City, with Lee Johnson looking to sign the left-back over the course of the summer.

Johnson eventually led the Robins to survival in the Sky Bet Championship last season, having found themselves in a relegation battle after a worrying run of form during the middle of the campaign.

The Robins will be looking to significantly strengthen their squad over the summer, but could also face a battle to keep hold of players in the coming months.

Joe Byran is attracting interest from a number of Championship clubs following an impressive campaign in the second-tier, which saw him make 49 appearances across all competitions and score one goal.

Should Byran leave this summer, it would leave Johnson with a problem at left-back, which would be covered by Lawrence should the Jamaican international make the move from America in the coming months.
