Bristol City left back Cameron Pring has signed a new deal with the club.
Pring, 23, made his debut for the club in August and has been a mainstay in Nigel Pearson’s side ever since, making 20 appearances for the team so far this season.
The deal will keep him at the club until 2024. Pring revealed his delight at signing a new contract with the club.
“I’m really happy to sign a new deal,” said Pring, via the club’s website.
“At the start of the year my goal was to break into the team. I would have been really happy with 20 appearances at the start of the season but now it makes me hungry to try and get as many appearances as possible.
“I hope that I can cement a starting spot in the team and push on in the second half of the season.”
Quiz: Can you name which club Bristol City signed these 28 midfielders from?
This has been a breakthrough campaign for Pring, who has previously gone out on loan to clubs such as Portsmouth, Walsall and Cheltenham Town in recent seasons.
Bristol City are currently 15th in the Championship. Pearson’s side won their most recent league game, a 3-2 victory over Millwall on January 2.
City’s next game comes in the FA Cup Third Round as The Robins host Fulham on January 8.
Their next league game is also against Fulham, this time at Craven Cottage, on January 15.
This is exciting news for Pring and much deserved his effort in breaking through into the Bristol City team.
A new contract is a fine reward for his performances so far this campaign.
This is a signal that he has the backing of his manager, Pearson, and now needs to kick on and keep improving to help the side climb the Championship table.
