Sky Bet Championship strugglers Bristol City are interested in bringing in former Leicester City manager Nigel Pearson to replace sacked Steve Cotterill, according to the Mirror.
The English manager has been out of a job ever since his dismissal from now high-flying Leicester City last season.
The Foxes are sitting top of the Premier League after a 1-1 draw at Aston Villa yesterday, but under Pearson the story was different, with the side needing an extraordinary turnaround to survive the drop.
Pearson’s spell at the King Power Stadium was anything but boring, and he found himself under increasing media scrutiny after a series of unexpected incidents.
These include as calling a reporter an ostrich in a press conference, and also seeming to wrestle with James McArthur on the touchline during a game against Crystal Palace.
Claudio Ranieri came in and has worked wonders with the Foxes this season, but Pearson finds himself having to work his way back up to the Premier League, after talks with Reading and Fulham came to nothing.
He is now being linked with Championship strugglers Bristol City and, after a last gasp winner over top of the league Middlesbrough, they find themselves on the brink of jumping out of the drop zone, and with Pearson at the helm, survival would be a real possibility.
