Relegation threatened West Brom are lining up a move for Bristol City manager Lee Johnson, according to a report in the Sun.

The former Barnsley manager has done an impressive job with the Robins since taking over and has guided the club to within touching distance of a playoff place in the Championship.

However, with the Baggies set to be confirmed as a Championship club as early as this weekend, they could make their move for Johnson as they look to the impressive young manager to be the man to guide them back the Premier League with an immediate promotion.

Albion parted ways with manager Alan Pardew a few weeks back after a run of miserable results, and they currently have former defender Darren Moore running the ship, with the club picking up an impressive win at Man United and a credible draw against Liverpool last time out.

It appears though that the powers that be at the Hawthorns see Johnson as the man they want to lead their charge back to the top flight next season, and it will be a bitter blow for Bristol City should Johnson decide on making the move to the Midlands.

Robins fans, what do you make of this news? Will Johnson leave? Let us know in the comments!
