Bristol City are bracing themselves for interest in Aden Flint later in the summer transfer window.

According to the Bristol Post, the Robins are expecting interest in Flint. They will entertain a huge bid if it comes their way and Flint expresses a desire to leave Ashton Gate.

The defender has enjoyed a fine year with the Robins, enhancing his reputation in the Sky Bet Championship and on Bristol City’s strong Carabao Cup run.

The 28-year-old has made almost 250 appearances for the Robins during his five-year stay at Ashton Gate, with the 2017/18 campaign perhaps his most impressive to date.

Flint featured on 46 occasions across all competitions, scoring nine goals for Lee Johnson’s side, who finished 11th in the Championship, as well as reaching the semi-final of the Carabao Cup.

The Robins tied Flint down to fresh terms earlier in 2018, with the defender agreeing terms until the summer of 2021.

Last summer, the towering defender received interest from Birmingham City, but the Robins stood firm and retained his service ahead of the 2017/18 campaign.

The Verdict

Should interest come Bristol City’s way this summer, it can hardly be a surprise, with Flint amongst the Championship’s exceptional defenders last season.

Bristol City are clearly bracing themselves for interest, but hold a position of power, due to the long-term contract Flint signed in March.

The 28-year-old might be tempted by a move this summer, but by committing his future to the Robins, the club are in a good position.
