Bristol City were handed the tie they all wanted in the Carabao Cup draw yesterday, with Jose Mourinho and Manchester United set to head down to Ashton Gate.

The draw will be remembered for the laughable way it was conducted, but fans of the Championship club won't mind now.

One man who is certainly looking forward to the game is Robins boss Lee Johnson. The manager took to twitter afterwards and shared the light-hearted message above.

It's a deserved tie for Bristol City, who have beaten three Premier League sides in the last three rounds, which includes their demolition of Palace on Tuesday.

The game is sure to be a sell-out and more than likely will be selected by Sky TV for coverage and it promises to be a memorable occasion at Ashton Gate.

Jose Mourinho is known to take this competition seriously and has a fantastic record in it. Not only did he win the trophy with Chelsea in his first spell in England, but United are holders after their triumph last year. Therefore, he is sure to play a strong side when United visit Ashton Gate, particularly as the tie is decided on the night.

The Verdict

What a great draw for Bristol City! Everyone connected to the club will be buzzing and looking forward to taking on United.

Lee Johnson sent out a great message after the draw and I'm sure he is relishing the chance to go up against Jose Mourinho – one of the best managers in the world.

However, there is a busy Championship schedule between now and the tie, so it's Johnson's job to get everyone focused on the immediate task at hand, starting at Sunderland tomorrow.

Thoughts, Bristol City fans? Can you pull off a huge shock and beat United? Let us know in the comments below.
