According to the Derby Telegraph, Bristol City manager Lee Johnson has spoken of how pleased he was with his side's performance over 90 minutes, after four second half goals saw the Robins come from behind to beat Derby County 4-1 on Saturday afternoon.

Matej Vydra's 27th minute penalty meant that the Rams went into the interval 1-0 up at Ashton Gate, but Johnson, who enjoyed a loan spell at the Rams during his playing career, insists he was pleased with his side's first half display and it was just that the goals came in the second half of the match.

Cauley Woodrow, Bobby Reid, Jamie Paterson and Famara Diedhou all found the net in the second period to give the Robins a thumping win, against a Derby side who came into the game off the back of thrashing Hull City 5-0 themselves.

"We don't want to get ahead of ourselves but I was delighted with what I saw, especially in the first half," said Johnson after the match.

"At the interval, I just told the players to produce more of the same. The only problem was some of our delivery from crosses and at times we could have got the ball in quicker," he continued.

"The second half was everything I want to see from my team. Jonathan Leko is like the Lord of the Dance and I would hate to be a defender playing against him," Johnson added, coming out with a line that even Ian Holloway would be proud of.

"We always looked a threat going forward and I picked a solid team so we were able to deal with a very good Derby side, who came here on the back of a big win," Johnson concluded.

The Verdict:

It is always easy to preach the virtues of patience and calmness at half time when the second half sees four goals, but it is interesting to note that in a league of perpetual madness, a degree of calm and faith in the work you're doing can work wonders.

Johnson deserves praise for whatever he did say at half time, and four second half goals in this division is no mean feat.

Bobby Reid and Jonathan Leko could give Championship defenders twisted blood if they get on the ball enough so it's little wonder that Johnson wants to see more of the same.
