Bristol City missed a golden opportunity to put pressure on the team's above them when they drew 0-0 to Burton Albion at Ashton Gate on Friday night.

Although the draw extended the Robins' unbeaten run, it was a game they would've expected to take three points from.

Lee Johnson's men were looking for a third straight league victory, but it wasn't to be, despite the host having more of the ball and the attempts.

The game came after an international break, something which the manager believes impacted their momentum.

Speaking to the Bristol Post, he also questioned whether his players had prepared for the game properly.

I think a couple of players have got to have a look at themselves, did they live right over that period? I am not saying they didn't but they didn't look as sharp as normal and I am disappointed with that.”

City are back in action at home to Leeds United on Saturday in what should be a great atmosphere. The Whites are on a poor run themselves, so both managers will be looking for a big response.

The Verdict

It seems very strange that Johnson is questioning the professionalism of his players, especially because it was clearly an off night.

They are still on a marvellous run and remarks like that are risky given the way they team have been playing.

However, it might be the motivation the players need to maintain their high levels for every game. We will see in time how they react, starting with Saturday's big clash against Leeds.
