According to the Bristol Post, Lee Johnson remains confident that Bristol City can survive despite being on the brink of the relegation zone.

Bristol City's 2-0 loss to Aston Villa in midweek left them level on points with Blackburn Rovers, who had beaten Derby County 1-0.

Both Blackburn and Wigan are breathing down the necks of Bristol City, who have picked up just nine points from their last nineteen games.

Johnson said:

"It is going to be tough and it may go to the end of the season, but we will not waver.

"Nobody is hiding; the players are not hiding and I'm not hiding.

"We will turn up every day and do our absolute best to maintain our status in this division and then kick on.

"Yes, there will be dips in confidence, but we have to deal with the pressure, because to lie down and die is simply not an option.

"Burton is going to be a big, big game and we have to make sure the players are given all the support they need for what is going to be a very important 90 minutes.

"I don't think the pressure will be a problem for the players – they'll be up for it and will do everything they can to get the three points."
