Bristol City are waiting for Burnley manager Sean Dyche to make a decision on striker Nahki Wells, as the Robins attempt to bring the forward to Ashton Gate.

BristolLive reporter Gregor MacGregor is reporting that the Robins are still waiting to find out whether they have a chance of securing their transfer target, with the transfer window slamming shut on Friday.

The journalist also revealed that the Championship club are also in talks with the Clarets over several players, with reports last week indicating that Robins midfielder Josh Brownhill could make the switch to Turf Moor in a swap deal for Wells.

City winger Niclas Eliasson is also of interest to the Premier League side, but the Clarets are joined by European giants Celtic, Lazio and Villarreal as they attempt to secure the 24-year-old's signature.

Clarets striker Matej Vydra has been on the fringes of Burnley's senior squad this season having made just six league appearances, and while there has been no official link to the Robins for the prolific Championship striker, he is a player that the Robins would likely say yes to if the opportunity came up.

The Verdict

Bristol City have had to play the waiting game for forward Wells, as Burnley seem to be assessing their options and taking everything into consideration.

The movement between Bristol City and Burnley will definitely be something to keep an eye on during the last few days of the transfer window, as both clubs look to reach some sort of agreement.
