Reliable journalist Lee Ryder of The Newcastle Chronicle has confirmed that three Championship sides are keeping tabs on Newcastle youngster Sean Longstaff, who is currently on loan in League One with Blackpool.

The 19-year-old midfielder has impressed in the middle of the park for the Seasiders so far this season, and the newly promoted side sit in the play-off places.

Ryder confirmed scouts from Barnsley, Bristol City and Bolton Wanderers were all present as Blackpool defeated Oxford United at Bloomfield Road on Saturday, and Newcastle are keen to continue the player’s development with further loan spells in the Football League.

Longstaff is set to spend the campaign in the north west, but clubs in the second tier will keep tabs on the player for next season.

There is also said to be Premier League interest in the exciting young star.

Longstaff is a player with massive potential, and has taken to the demands of League One football like a duck to water.

The player has been one of the best in the third tier so far this season, and if he continues his fine form, he will undoubtedly ply his trade in at least the Championship next season.

Newcastle are keen to keep him, but feel another loan switch next year wis suitable at this stage, and clubs are sure to go to war over the player when next year’s summer transfer market opens for business.
