Bristol City aiming to poach 25-year-old ace from Championship rivals Fulham

According to London News Online, Bristol City are lining up a move for Fulham goalkeeper Marcus Bettinelli this summer.

Bristol City are keen to be active in the summer transfer window to avoid a repeat performance from last season, where they narrowly avoided relegation to the third tier.

The Robins will be looking to replace Fabian Giefer, whose loan spell from Schalke came to an end.

Marcus Bettinelli has emerged as a target for Bristol City this summer after he replaced David Button as Fulham’s first team goalkeeper last season.

The 25-year-old was called upon towards the end of the season but failed to keep a clean sheet in any of his eleven games.

Bettinelli will probably look to leave Fulham this summer if he is not given first team assurances and Bristol City are monitoring his situation.

They want the former England under-21 international to compete with Ivan Lucic and Frank Fielding for the number one spot.
