Bristol City midfielder Han-Noah Massengo has shared a message to confirm he is now returning to England following his involvement for the France Under-19 side during the international break.

Massengo helped the French youth side secure qualification for the Under-19 European Championships next summer, despite the fact his side suffered a 1-0 defeat against their Denmark counterparts on Tuesday evening.

The 18-year-old has been an important player for both club and country this season, with his performances in the Robins' midfield having helped Lee Johnson's side into the Championship play-off spots after their first 16 matches.

The former Monaco man was left on the bench for the 1-0 victory over Cardiff prior to the international break, with fellow midfielder Adam Nagy returning to the side, but Massengo is bound to be an important figure for the Robins throughout the remainder of the season.

He has now taken to his Instagram account to share that he is returning to Bristol with the French Under-19 side's qualification secured.

Massengo has made a total of 14 appearances in all competitions since joining Bristol City over the summer, with the teenager having broken into the first team earlier than many at Ashton Gate would have expected.

The Verdict

Massengo has been a vital player for the Robins so far this campaign with so many midfielders injured, but the 18-year-old may feature less regularly now that Nagy has returned to fitness, while Korey Smith is also nearing his comeback.

This could prove to be a positive thing for the Frenchman as he has looked somewhat tired of late following his demanding start to the season, and a break on the sidelines may benefit him in the long term.

It will come as positive news to Bristol City fans that Massengo managed to help France secure qualification for next summer's Championships, as he will now be returning to the south-west on a high ahead of the Robins' upcoming clash with Nottingham Forest this weekend.
