Bristol City's Han-Noah Massengo has said that Kylian Mbappe is the best player he's played against.

The PSG man is already a decorated footballer at the age of 21, with the 2018 World Cup title being his standout. He graduated through the same Monaco academy as Massengo did, and speaking to www.bcfc.co.uk about him, the Bristol City man said:

"I think the best opponent I have played was Kylian Mbappe. He started at Monaco as did I. I started in the Academy when he was starting out and I watched every game he played. He was a dream. Probably him or Neymar are the best players I have played against."

Massengo was in the Monaco first-team last year. He worked under Thierry Henry briefly and even made his Champions League debut for the club, before Lee Johnson brought him over to Bristol City.

He's proved a keen signing, and the 18-year-old looks set to have a bright future in football. He's a way to go if he's to reach the same feats as Mbappe though:

“This guy is crazy good," continued Massengo. "He does everything so quickly and I think if I want to be the best, to improve I need to use these players as my inspiration. They always want to be the best and do the best they can."

With 18 goals in 20 Ligue 1 appearances this season, Mbappe has once again proved himself as one of Europe's best players. He looks like a future Ballon d'Or winner and after three seasons at PSG, he could well be in-line for an English move in the future.

For Massengo, his season has been a bit stop-start, but having featured 23 times in the Championship so far, the experience he'll have gained from this will set him up to have an even stronger second season at the club.

The verdict

Whilst Mbappe is arguably the best young player in world football, Massengo is one of the best young players in the Championship.

His performances have differed from time-to-time but on the whole he's proved his worth to Johnson, who could one day get a big transfer fee for the Frenchman.
