We're just over a week away from the Championship kicking off and teams up and down the country will be eager to show that they are capable of getting into the Premier League.

Well over half of the second tier will consider it possible to get into the top flight this coming campaign and after a promising year last time out, Bristol City should be in that bracket.

The Robins were in the top six conversation for much of last year and though they've lost the likes of Aden Flint and Bobby Reid, their summer signings should offer hope to the fanbase.

Here at Football League World, then, our latest preview looks at the men from Ashton Gate...

Key Player

Reid and Flint may have gone but other key players remain and Joe Bryan is one of them.

The left-footed ace has got plenty to offer down that side and will be looking to once again be a dynamic presence for the Robins.

His service could help Mo Eisa quickly settle in at the club.

One to Watch

Hakeeb Adelakun shone last season for Scunthorpe United and now gets the chance to make the step up.

The Robins have a good record of giving players their opportunity and seeing them take it and it'd be no surprise to see that happen here with the midfielder.

Promotion Odds

9/1 odds might not make them the standout favourites but it certainly highlights that they've got a significant chance.

There has been a lot of change at Ashton Gate this summer but the squad looks strong and they should be there or thereabouts in the top six race.

What's the Manager Saying?

Lee Johnson, despite certain exits, has painted a very positive picture and it is clear that there is a good feeling about the Robins this summer.

His words reflect that as they look to get off to a flyer this season.

First Six Fixtures

An early test against Nottingham Forest should highlight where the Robins stand this season.

Games against Middlesbrough and Swansea will be tough, too, but there's also no reason why wins can't be taken from all of their first six games.
