When Wolves were taken over by the Chinese owned Fosun Group, fans of the West Midlands side understandably entered a fevered frenzy of excitement.

Their Championship side was now under the control of the 17th richest man in China, and a flurry of big money signings were expected to be made by new boss Nuno Santo in what was set to be one of the most exciting summer transfer windows in the history of the club.

Already linked with a Championship record £17.5 million move for Porto’s Ruben Neves, reports now suggest that the Black Country side could be interested in a move for their former striker Benik Afobe.

The London born striker enjoyed a consistent spell with Bournemouth following a move to the Cherries in 2016, but could now be set for a move away having falling out of favour at The Vitality Stadium.

If boss Eddie Howe decides to let Afobe move on, then Wolves should do what it takes to bring the player back to Molineux.

Afobe was prolific in his single season spell with the club, and smashed an impressive 22 league goals in 46 appearances following a move from MK Dons the summer before.

Wolves lacked an out and out goalscorer last season, and adding Afobe to the mix alongside the likes of Helder Costa and David Edwards will make Wolves a force to be reckoned with next season.

It’s going to be an exhilarating summer at Molineux, and if Santo gets it right with the money set to be at his disposal, Wolves could be battling it out for a place in the Premier League by May next year.
