Cambridge United's solid start to their League Two campaign continued this weekend as they drew 2-2 with Macclesfield Town.

The U's have been amongst the bottom half of the table for a couple of seasons now, but there are green shoots of recovery under manager Colin Calderwood. Macclesfield, the whipping boys of last season, are also in good form and that led to an engrossing and entertaining 2-2 draw at the Abbey Stadium.

Theo Archibald and Arthur Gnahoua bagged for the visitors with Sam Smith getting a late leveller for the home side, but the game had been lit up as early as the 13th minute with a super strike by 20-year-old Jack Roles.

Roles is on loan at Cambridge from Tottenham Hotspur and whilst his parent club were shipping three goals against Brighton, he was providing an attacking spark in the basement division that didn't go unnoticed.

That led a selection of Spurs' fans to claim they should be recalling their youngster as soon as possible, as you'll read below.
