Plenty of Nottingham Forest fans have taken to Twitter to debate whether the club should recall Tyler Walker from Lincoln City following his latest display for the League One side.
The forward, who joined the Imps on a season-long loan deal last summer, helped the club secure a 5-1 victory over Bolton Wanderers last night by netting his 16th goal of the campaign.
Having been limited to just 38 appearances for Forest since graduating from their youth academy in 2015, Walker has achieved a great deal of success in his recent spells away from the club at Mansfield Town and Lincoln.
Whilst the 23-year-old has only scored on four occasions in the Championship during his career, he has unquestionably furthered his development at Lincoln in recent months and thus could be ready to make the step up.
Given that the Reds are in need of a new striker following Rafa Mir’s departure yesterday, they may find it beneficial to bring Walker back to the City Ground in the coming weeks in order to provide some much-needed competition for Lewis Grabban.
Can you get 14 out of 14 on this Forest quiz? Have a go now!
After seeing Walker continue his fine form in-front of goal for Lincoln, plenty of Forest fans offered their thoughts on whether he should be recalled by the club on Twitter.
Here are some of the best responses from the club’s supporters…
Tyler Walker with the small matter of his 16th goal of the season tonight. 22 goals for Mansfield last season in league two. 16 goals in League One this. There’s his footballing education. Time to bring him home #nffc

Bit of a quandary for #NFFC regarding Walker. Not every player makes the step up from League 1 to Championship. For every Assombalonga there's an Omar Bogle. I'd rather us get someone new in and leave Tyler at Lincoln for the season.

As much as i'd love to see Walker scoring goals for us, i'd leave him at Lincoln for the rest of the season. Needs the full 90s and will continue to improve. He does need to improve to, to be a top half Championship striker, still has his weaknesses, back to goal especially.#NFFC

Would you recall Tyler Walker back? Even if we get Murray. I think I would as an option #nffc

#nffc Really hoping we recall Walker now think he deserves his chance to show us his progress 🙏

Walker not good enough for Championship, you need to have pace or strength and he doesn’t have enough of either, particularly in a team like ours where we create very little…. we need strikers who can create something on their own….#nffc

Recalling Walker would still be a last resort for me, rather us get one of our targets in. He’s flying at Lincoln so rather him carry on that development than come and sit on the bench behind Grabban and potientally, another striker. If can’t get anyone in then fair enough #NFFC

My case for getting Tyler Walker back instead of signing another striker.
•He’s in good form. The others aren’t.
•If we get promoted he will go out again on loan and we may never know if he can cut it.
•Fraction of the cost.
•HE’S A RED!! #nffc
