Derby County saw their play-off hopes dented after slipping to a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Cardiff City last night but many Rams fans have heaped praise on the performance of goalkeeper Kelle Roos.

The result leaves them six points adrift from the top six with three games left to play.

Derby handed their hosts the lead in the Welsh capital when Jason Knight's wayward backpass allowed Junior Hoilett to open the scoring after 17 minutes.

Knight got his redemption 13 minutes later, however, smashing in an equaliser after a quick break from Phillip Cocu's side.

Lee Tomlin capitalised on another Derby mistake, this time from Wayne Rooney, to grab the winner just before the hour mark.

However, the scoreline could have been more comprehensive if not for the performance of Roos in the visitors' goal.

The Dutchman returned to the side for the clash with the Rams after Ben Hamer's shocker against Brentford on the weekend and put in an impressive display.

The 28-year-old has been far from convincing at points this term and spent much of the 2019/20 campaign behind Hamer in the pecking order but took his chance against Cardiff.

Roos made six saves in total (Sofascore) and dealt with high balls into the box well when necessary.

His performance appears to have caught the attention of the Pride Park faithful, many of whom have taken to Twitter to heap praise on the shot-stopper.
