Rotherham United have signed full-back Matthew Olosunde after his contract ran out with Manchester United and many Millers fans are buzzing at the signing.

The deal, which is subject to EFL and FA ratification, will see the defender sign a two-year contract at the New York Stadium.

Olosunde came through the New York Red Bulls academy but made the switch to Old Trafford in 2016.

A versatile defender who can play as both a left- or right-back, Olosunde didn't make a single senior appearance during his three years with the Red Devils but played 33 times for their under-23s side.

The 21-year-old has featured for the United States in multiple youth age group side and made his senior international debut against Bolivia in May 2018.

The defender will be part of the squad that fly out to Germany for their pre-season training camp on Monday.

The Millers narrowly missed out on Championship survival last season and Paul Warne will be hoping his side can achieve promotion from League One at the first time of asking.

Olosunde is Warne's sixth signing of the summer as he prepares his squad for life back in League One and many Millers fans seem ecstatic at the former Manchester United defenders arrival.
