QPR have recently completed a deal to sign Charlie Austin on a permanent deal, following his release from West Brom this summer.

Austin spent the second-half of the 2020/21 season on loan with the Rs, and caught the eye with a number of strong performances for the club.

The forward chipped in with seven goals in 21 appearances for Mark Warburton's side, as they finished ninth in the Championship table.

Austin was released from West Brom at the end of the season, as they looked to adjust to life back in the second-tier, following their relegation from the Premier League under the management of Sam Allardyce.

The forward took to social media to express his delight at returning to the Rs permanently, ahead of the new league campaign, which is set to get under way in August.

Former QPR midfielder Alejandro Faurlin was among those to react to Austin's return to QPR on a permanent basis, and labelled the move as 'well deserved', and 'brilliant news' for the club.

Faurlin spent seven years with QPR, and played alongside Austin in his first spell with the club. The former QPR midfielder made 163 appearances in total for the Rs, before departing in 2016, which brought an end to a frustrating spell, with Faurlin's time with the club being disrupted with some long-term injury problems.

The Verdict:

It's great to see him wishing Austin well on his return to the club.

The forward has shown that he can score goals at this level, and you would imagine that it will have been a no-brainer for QPR to make their move permanently for him this summer.

If they can keep him fit during the 2021/22 season, then I wouldn't rule out Mark Warburton's side challenging for a top-six finish in the Championship, after some impressive showings in the second-half of this year's campaign.

Faurlin is a player that will be remembered fondly for his services to QPR, and the club's supporters are certain to love his reaction to Austin's arrival.
