Aston Villa have booked their place at Wembley after securing a penalty shoot-out victory over West Bromwich Albion in the play-off semi-finals.

Dean Smith's side headed to the Hawthorns with a one-goal advantage under their belt, but Baggies' defender struck in the first-half of the second leg to level the tie.

Villa goalkeeper Jed Steer then became the hero in the penalty shoot-out as his saves ensured his side's progression to face either Leeds United or Derby County in the play-off final.

Midfielder Jack Grealish has been vital to Villa's success this season, with his assist for Conor Hourihane in the first leg representing the kind of creativity he has provided in his role.

The 23-year-old has also shown his excellent leadership qualities by captaining the side in the final run-in as Villa lost just one of their last 13 games.

Following his side's success on Tuesday night, Grealish shared his reaction to the result on his Twitter account the following day:

The images show him celebrating his side's success, as he displays the passion that has seen him establish himself as a real fans' favourite at Villa Park. Plenty of Villa fans responded to this tweet by hailing Grealish and his contribution to this side.
