Ipswich Town are top of League One after an impressive 4-1 hammering of Blackpool yesterday.
Paul Lambert’s side have enjoyed a very promising start to the season and they continued their fine form at Bloomfield Road, with the Tractor Boys racing into a three goal lead by half-time.
The hosts pulled one back after the break but a magnificent fourth from Gwion Edwards sealed the big win for Ipswich.
That was the second goal of the game for the wide man and he also provided an assist in what was an outstanding individual display.
The 27-year-old was used from the left side and he was simply too much for Blackpool to handle at times due to his skill and direct style. Not only was he a constant threat but he also added the end product to his game that had been missing at times.
Edwards’ performance certainly excited the Ipswich fans and here we look at some of their reaction from Twitter…

2 goals with Edwards cutting in from the left. His best game from his preferred position (for maybe the first time?) #itfc

Fully expecting Lambert to inform us that Edwards picked up 'a little knock' at the end of the game, thus meaning he will now be out for 4 months. #itfc

Amazing how much better Edwards looks playing on the left. Really good start but the real challenges start next Saturday with Accrington, who are decent #itfc

Edwards on the left is a totally different animal #itfc

Well done Town for bringing the fixture forwards. Edwards was brilliant. Such a threat when he is direct. 4 already is it with a few assists too! I don’t think we were that great but very clinical and probably could have had another couple. #itfc
