Keeper Stockdale kept out Dutch keeper Maarten Stekelenberg in the number one stop at Craven Cottage, but he is being heavily linked with SkyBet Championship rivals Brighton and Hove Albion.

With Fulham playing Crawley Town in a pre-season friendly, it appears likely that Stockdale will be left out of the squad as negotiations commence.

A fee in the region of £1m is being quoted to get the 28-year-old Fulham keeper, who has been limited to only 39 appearances for the London club since his move from Darlington in 2008.

Stockdale has been capped by England C in 2004, appearing in the non-League under-23s in October for a friendly against Italy, and he came on as a substitute for Nikki Bull in the 1–0 victory on 10 November.
