Tomer Hemed claims that Brighton & Hove Albion's second goal against Ipswich Town belonged to him, during an interview with the Argus.

The Seagulls are now at the summit of the Championship after overcoming Ipswich 3-2 in the battle of the top two at Portman Road.

Kazenga LuaLua continuing his goalscoring form when he broke the deadlock after 10 minutes. Hemed bagged a brace for Chris Hughton's men, while Freddy Sears and David McGoldrick were on target for Town.

The Brighton controversy came in the 12th minute, when Seagulls midfielder Dale Stephens launched in a free kick which ended up in the back of the net - but did Hemed get a touch?

Most have granted the former Almeria striker with the goal, many believing that Stephens free kick grazed the top of his head and ending up in the goal.

Hemed told the Argus on the matter: "I am not a player that likes to steal goals if I haven't touched it. I'd never say it was mine. I got a touch so I celebrated. If not I wouldn't.

"I was celebrating, Dale also, but it doesn't matter. In the end we won a very important game.

"We spoke about it and were laughing about it in the dressing room. In the end we are happy with three points.

"I told Dale he needs to give an assist and I need to score, so both of us were happy.

"It says a lot about us after losing the lead to still win."

Brighton have made some terrific investments this summer and with players like Hemed and LuaLua in form, there is no reason why they cannot continue their push for promotion.
