Brighton and Hove Albion striker Glenn Murray believes that his side can take nothing for granted in the run-in, according to The Brighton and Hove Independent.

With eight games remaining, Brighton are in a great position to kick on and win promotion to the top flight for the first time in the Premier League era.

They currently sit in 2nd place and are six points ahead of Huddersfield Town (who have a game in hand to close the gap to three points).

Murray, however, is aware that their competitors in the fight for promotion are quality sides and he says that there are no givens.

The 18-goal striker believes that Brighton need to make the most of their four remaining home games if they are to clinch promotion.

He has also urged his team not to take teams in the bottom ten lightly as they still have survival to play for.

Murray said:

"We’ve got four games left at the Amex, two back-to-back and we need to make the most of those games.

“I looked at the teams we’re playing and six of the last eight games are against teams in the bottom ten, so they’ve all got things to play for.

“Outsiders can look at the fixtures and go ‘Brighton will win that and Brighton will win that’ but it’s not like that.

"Come the end of the season, everyone has got different things to fight for.

“Some teams maybe haven’t got anything to fight for and are almost on their holidays but play better without any pressure.

"Then you’ve got teams fighting for their lives and for their wages next year and to be in the division.

“There’s no givens in this business end of the season and we’ll have to be fully on it to pick up the points we want.”
