Brighton set to land Tottenham midfielder, deal edging closer

Published

Brighton are close to signing Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Alex Pritchard, according to Sky Sources.

Reports over a deal worth around £8m are being touted, with talks underway to secure the move for the former Brentford midfielder to move to the AMEX Stadium on a permanent basis.

The 23-year-old has been told he does not feature in Maurico Pochettino’s plans this season, and looks set  to make a permanent move away from the club where he has been since being a youngster.

Pritchard excelled during a spell with Brentford a few seasons ago where he caught the eye with a number of goals and assists as the Bees pushed towards the playoff places.

Manager Chris Hughton guided the Seagulls to within a whisker of promotion last season, where a winning goal away at Middlesbrough would have seen them up. However, they lost out in the playoff’s to Sheffield Wednesday.

Hughton is keen to add to his squad to try and ensure a repeat performance this time round, and clearly sees Pritchard as someone who can come in and add extra spark to his team.

Brighton fans, what do you think to this news? Good signing? Let us know in the comments!
