According to The Argus, Brighton and Hove Albion are set to sign Vegard Forren.
Vegard Forren is currently a free agent but he is expected to pen a deal with Brighton ahead of their promotion run-in.
This news comes soon after Shane Duffy was ruled out for over a month with injury, joining fellow centre back Connor Goldson (heart condition) on the sidelines.
Forren is expected to come in and provide defensive cover as Brighton seek automatic promotion.
The Argus understands that Brighton saw off competition from Leeds United and Aston Villa to land the Norwegian international, who is available on a free since leaving Molde.
Aston Villa are keen to bolster their options at the back too, and currently have Chris Samba on trial.
After interest from Rosenborg, Forren instead decided to move back to England.
The 29-year-old spent a short period with Southampton a few years back but failed to make a first team appearance before returning to Molde.
