Speaking to seagulls.co.uk, Brighton and Hove Albion’s Steve Sidwell has insisted next year’s campaign in the Premier League will be a “rollercoaster ride” for Chris Hughton’s side.

Brighton secured their promotion from the Sky Bet Championship on Easter Monday, when victory over Wigan Athletic, combined with Huddersfield Town’s draw with Derby County, saw the Seagulls open up an unassailable lead over their rivals.

Sidwell is one of a handful of players to have experience in the top-flight, and he insisted the Seagulls would have to improve next year, where they will face a different task, he said: “It’s always easier when you’re winning and at the top of the league, the team's spirit and togetherness is always there.

“But when we’re seven or eight games without a win, it’s important that we stick together and keep that team spirit.

“Sometimes you take a win for granted, but next year, every point is vital, especially every win. The quicker we get them on the board, the better. It’s going to be a rollercoaster of a ride.”

The 34-year old midfielder has made 35 appearances across all competitions for Hughton’s side this season, but is out of contract in the summer, with his future yet to be resolved.

Sidwell will be hoping to help Brighton secure the Championship title in the coming weeks, with the Seagulls requiring just one victory from their remaining two fixtures to be crowned as Champions.
