Brighton linked with a move for League Two starlet

Brighton and Hove Albion are eyeing a move for Exeter City star Ollie Watkins, according to The Plymouth Herald.

There are a host of clubs chasing the young Exeter forward, including Brentford, and now Brighton have joined the race.

Chris Hughton is keen to add some young talent to his squad and Watkins fits the bill.

The 20-year-old burst onto the scene last year and netted nine goals for the Grecians last season, including an impressive brace in a 2-1 win over rivals Plymouth Argyle.

Watkins has failed to replicate that form this season but is still attracting attention from a number of clubs.

He has only managed two league goals so far this season and another in the EFL Trophy against Chelsea under-23s but he is still young and his game is developing.

The youngster is a physical player who is often praised for his pace and strength, making him the ideal centre forward.

Brighton fans – would Watkins be a good addition? Is he the type of player who would add something to the squad?

Exeter fans – would you be upset to lose Watkins? How much is he worth?
