Brighton exploring possibility of luring former West Ham United forward to the club

Brighton and Hove Albion are weighing up a move to bring recently released West Ham United forward Elliot Lee to the South Coast, according to TEAMtalk

The 21-year old has been on numerous loan moves throughout his career with spells at Luton, Colchester, Blackpool and another spell at Colchester this season where he scored twice in 15 games.

However, this rather poor goalscoring record he doesn’t stand much of a chance of breaking into the West Ham squad with the likes Sakho, Valencia and Carroll all ahead of him in the pecking order, leading to his release.

The Seagulls were one of the surprise packages of the season with manager Chris Hughton spending little but coming very close to automatic promotion.

Ultimately, they missed out on the final day and lost to Sheffield Wednesday in the playoffs and now must begin his rebuild for next season.

Their depth in the strikers department wasn’t as good as there rivals, though Tomer Hemed was fantastic and the Israeli marksman was supplemented well by James Wilson and Sam Baldock.

Still, it seems they want to add the former Hammer to their squad as the former Newcastle United coach bids to land cheap reinforcements at the Amex.
