Brighton and Hove Albion defender Vitalijs Maksimenko has completed a season-long loan move to Dutch outfit VVV-Venlo, the club have confirmed.
The 23-year-old Lativan joined Brighton on a two-and-a-half-year deal in January 2013. However, first team opportunities have been limited for the left-back, who has made just one senior appearance for the Seagulls.
This loan follows temporary spells with Yeovil Town and Kilmarnock over the past two seasons.
Maksimenko has also been capped nine times for the Lativan National team, having advanced through the Under 17, 19 and 21 setup before making his senior bow.
This latest loan switch will hopefully give the defender first team football before he returns to England to try and stake a place in the Brighton team next season.
