Brighton centre back, Connor Goldson has signed a new deal to keep him at the club until 2020, the clubs official website confirmed
Goldson joined the Seagulls from Shrewsbury Town last year and made his debut in December 2015. He went on to be one of Brighton’s top performers last season and established a solid partnership with Lewis Dunk.
He made over 100 appearances for Shrewsbury, making his debut for the club in 2011 at the age of just 18 and he went on to score 8 goals for the club, quite impressive for a centre back.
The seagulls defender has yet to feature this season due to injury but he will be back in the team soon, after Chris Hughton confirmed he is back to full fitness.
On Goldson, Hughton told the Brighton official website “Connor had a great first season with us, and particularly in the second half of the campaign, when he was excellent. He has made great progress in his first year and earned his new deal; he thoroughly deserves it and I’ve no doubt he has a very bright future ahead with us”
He went on to say “He has been a little bit unfortunate with injury at the start of the season, but he is back to full fitness now and ready to seize his opportunity”
