According to The Argus, Brighton and Hove Albion manager Chris Hughton is expecting a tricky fixture tonight when his side take on Birmingham City.

Brighton host Birmingham at the AMEX tonight and both teams have plenty to play for.

The Seagulls are in the hunt for automatic promotion and the Sky Bet Championship title and they currently sit one point behind league leaders Newcastle in second place.

The gap between Brighton and third place Huddersfield currently stands at nine points and Hughton will be keen to keep that comfortable cushion.

However, the Brighton boss knows that Birmingham will pose a threat tonight.

Birmingham have been dragged into a relegation scrap but they are unbeaten in three games and will be eyeing an upset tonight.

After Brighton's scrappy 1-0 win over Birmingham's relegation rivals Blackburn, Hughton knows that nothing can be taken for granted in this division.

Ahead of tonight, Hughton said:

It will be as tough as Saturday’s game, I’ve no doubts about that.

“They haven’t lost in the last three games.

"They’ve made some changes, they are getting used to the changes and the structure, and they are getting a little bit more consistency now.

"And they are another team that’s fighting.”
