According to The Mirror, Brighton and Hove Albion and Newcastle United will compete to sign Arsenal’s Carl Jenkinson in the summer.

Carl Jenkinson’s Arsenal future is in serious doubt after he has managed just five outings all season, with just one coming in the Premier League.

The 25-year-old was a target for Crystal Palace and Aston Villa in January but a move never materialised.

The former Charlton youngster played over 50 games for West Ham United over two loan spells, where he arguably enjoyed the best football of his career.

Brighton are likely to move for a right back this summer as their first choice Bruno is set to turn 37 at the start of next season.

Newcastle United might also move for a right back if Vurnon Anita leaves on a free, although they have DeAndre Yedlin available in that position.

Jenkinson has reportedly been told he is free to leave Arsenal this summer.
