Brighton and Hove Albion are looking to complete business in Italy this summer as they target Sassuolo and Atlanta goalkeepers, Andrea Consigli and Marco Sportiella, according to Tutto Mercato Web.
Sassuolo’s first choice keeper Consigli has put in several strong performances for his club this season, while young goalkeeper Sportiello is being regarded as one of the top five goalkeepers in Serie A.
Hughton is eager to be proactive as his side hunt for a place in the Premier League next season, and the Italian goalkeepers will provide stiff competition for David Stockdale.
Sportiello was subject to interest from three Premier League clubs in the January Transfer Window as Bournemouth were among one of those interested top-flight sides having a £6.2 million bid rejected by Atlanta.
Brighton boss, Chris Hughton seemingly believes that the club need more than one reliable goalkeeper to keep them in the top-flight.
The Seagulls took a step in the right direction as they sealed a 2-1 victory over Nottingham Forest last night that puts them within one point of 2nd placed Middlesbrough.
