Striker Adrian Colunga has left Brighton and Hove Albion by mutual consent after the striker agreed to terminate his contract with the Championship club, the club have confirmed.
Boss Chris Hughton has yet to include Adrian Colunga in his team this season with, Colunga seemingly failing to impress both in training and in previous performances for the club.
The Spanish striker has been surplus to requirements at the American Express Stadium for the past few seasons, scoring just four goals over 21 games for the Seagulls last season, his lack of goals contributing to Brighton’s massively disappointing season, before being shipped out on loan to Liga BBVA side Granada in January, where he yet again failed to impress.
With the Seagulls in fine form and new signing Tomer Hemed finding consistency at the top end of the goalscoring charts, Adrian Colunga’s days were always going to be numbered, and he and the club have agreed to a mutual termination of his contract with immediate effect.
The Seagulls currently sit top of the Sky Bet Championship, and remain the only side in England to remain unbeaten all season.
