Brighton & Hove Albion have submitted a new offer for Blackburn Rovers winger Ben Marshall, reports HITC Sport.
Brighton are continuing their pursuit of the 24-year-old despite being knocked back by Rovers earlier this month with a £1.5million bid.
The Seagulls are to test Blackburn’s resolve once more but they are taking a firm stance on one of their star players and are determined to keep hold of the former Leicester City man.
Brighton boss Chris Hughton has identified Marshall as a top target this summer as he undergoes an overhaul of the squad, following a disappointing campaign in the Championship last season.
Marshall joined the Lancashire outfit from Leicester in August 2013 and has gone on to make nearly 70 appearances, scoring nine goals, including seven last season in 47 outings.
The Ewood Park side are under a transfer embargo after falling foul of the Financial Fair Play rules and have already lost star midfielder Tom Cairney to Fulham earlier this summer.
Strikers Jordan Rhodes and Rudy Gestede continue to be linked with moves away in what will be a testing month for manager Gary Bowyer.
