Brighton and Hove Albion fans will still be buoyant after finally winning promotion to the Premier League.

Soon enough, they will have to start thinking about what transfer business needs to be done this summer to prepare themselves for their top flight campaign.

The Premier League is a very tough division to compete in and Brighton need to strengthen their squad in order to avoid dropping straight back to the Championship.

One of the first things that Chris Hughton will have to is to address a number of out of contract stars.

This includes top players like Steve Sidwell and Dale Stephens but also the Brighton goalkeeper David Stockdale.

After yet another impressive season, the English stopper was named as the EFL goalkeeper of the season and he has played an integral part in the Seagulls' promotion.

However, the 31-year-old is out of contract at the end of the season and a number of teams will be circling to sign him on a free transfer.

If Stockdale does leave, Brighton need a replacement goalkeeper.

Hughton could look at Manchester United stopper Sam Johnstone, who has been impressing on loan at Aston Villa.

The 24-year-old has played 20 league games for the Villains, keeping 8 clean sheets in that time.

With David De Gea and Sergio Romero ahead of the former England youth international, he might be tempted to move on permanently and the prospect of Premier League football could give Brighton an upper hand in the race with Aston Villa.
