Speaking to Brighton and Hove Albion’s official website, Dale Stephens has insisted the club are in the “good position” for automatic promotion in the Sky Bet Championship, encouraging his teammates to finish off the job they have started.

Chris Hughton’s side are currently second in the Championship, trailing leaders Newcastle United by just one-point, but more importantly are nine-points clear of third-placed Huddersfield Town, leaving the Seagulls in a great position to secure a top-two finish.

There are just six fixtures of the Championship season remaining, and Stephens is confident Brighton can secure promotion to the Premier League for the first time in the club’s history, he said: "We're in a good position and have done well so far, but there's a bit of work to be done and we're looking forward to it.

"We've got six games left and it all boils down to these games at the end of the day.

"We’re confident and not going to change. We're a good team and we're looking to finish the job off.”

Brighton have recorded back-to-back victories following the international break, keeping their promotion push well on track.

Hughton’s side face Queens Park Rangers this evening, where the Seagulls will be looking to move back to the top of the Championship table with a victory, which would pile the pressure on rivals Newcastle and Huddersfield ahead of their respective fixtures tomorrow.
